Hemmeter Building Renovation

Originally built in 1911, the Hemmeter Building is a historic structure with seven aboveground floors, a full basement, and a roof that will be developed into a roof deck/garden area.  The owner intends to renovate the building to house office space.  Work includes selective demolition, cleaning, and repair of masonry, new storefront and entrance systems, and more.

Restoration work will involve completely restoring the building interior and exterior to a “like new” and code applicable condition, including the shell, core, and the infrastructure systems of all floors. New building features to be constructed  include restrooms on each floor, demising walls (ground/first floor), mechanical rooms, computer IDF (Independent Distribution Facility) rooms, replacement (if not restoration) of all exterior windows, replacement of the existing ground floor storefront (windows, insulated walls, doors), and the modification and addition of stairways as required.
